Inside Sales Representative

Educational Sales - K-12/Public Library Market

Job Description

 

Infobase Learning, a leading provider of research and classroom-oriented educational materials published under such well-known brands as Facts On File, Chelsea House, Fergusons, World Almanac and Films Media Group has an immediate opening in our New York City office for an experienced, motivated inside sales professional to sell Infobase’s family of subscription-based products, which includes streaming video collections, online databases, and other digital media to the K-12 and Public Library markets.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Inside Sales Representative supports company objectives by increasing revenue from an existing client base while acquiring new customers within an assigned territory. The Inside Sales Representative identifies prospective accounts and builds, develops, and maintains relationships with decision makers to strengthen Infobase’s market position and close sales. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Heavy phone work: renewal and new sales goal driven

  • Accomplish sales goals through direct daily communication with decision-makers, including librarians, media directors, distance learning coordinators, faculty, and technical staff who influence or procure company products and services.

  • Prospect, grow, and manage an account list while meeting revenue goals.

  • Follow-up on leads via e-mail and telephone

  • Devise and execute strategy for evaluating and maximizing opportunities in an assigned territory.

  • Develop and maintain product knowledge for all company brands and services.

  • Ability to conduct product demonstrations over the phone and through webinars.

  • Keep management informed of sales activity and opportunities.

  • Update all account information in a CRM.

  • Communicate and work effectively with other staff members

  • Attend conferences and visit accounts.

     

    Qualifications:

  • Strong telephone, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A 4-year college degree and experience in educational sales
  • Proficiency in common business software tools, including Microsoft Office and contact management tools.

 

While this is primarily an inside sales position, some travel may be required to visit accounts and attend conferences.
