We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead our external sales team in the Eastern USA region.

FARO Technologies, Inc. is continuing to revolutionize and disrupt the high-tech forensics science and crime/accident reconstruction industry with products like our innovative 3D Laser Scanner, Focus3D.

This is an ideal job for a hands on sales manager with demonstrated success leading and coaching capital equipment sales staff. You must be able to travel up to 80% of the work week. A Bachelors degree in a related engineering field is required. Experience in metrology, Law enforcement, crime scene investigation, accident reconstruction or a background in Forensic Science is preferred, but not required. Experience leveraging innovative technology, value and customer focus resulting revenue and market share growth are a must!

Meet monthly revenue goals for the assigned region. Determine forecast and act as player/coach to manage inside, outside and distributor sales force in order to achieve these goals.

Perform product demonstrations as needed and assist sales staff with high profile or difficult accounts in order to advance sales opportunity and close business.

Review and maintain high profile customer relationships as identified by VP of Sales.

Sell the company's line of products in areas not assigned to direct reports, obtain leads and close sales. Set revenue goals and create long-term purchase agreements with key accounts.

Review and maintain relationships with national contracting groups within assigned region and assist in growing new national contract opportunities as identified by VP of Sales.

Provide strategic input to the VP of Sales. Identify and report on potential opportunities to promote sales growth.

Establish budgets and ensure compliance with expense guidelines. Update database and generate reports as required.

Hire, train, develop and manage the performance of outside and distributor sales staff in conjunction with the VP of Sales and HR.


Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or closely related engineering discipline or Forensic Science, PE preferred, not required.

Solid understanding of Metrology, crime/accident reconstruction and public safety organization funding cycles strongly preferred.

5-7 years experience managing an outside sales team.

Ability to travel +80% -Ability to travel extensively within territory, including over-night travel.

Valid drivers license with excellent driving record
