Excel is seeking a creative, resourceful, and energetic sales professional who enjoys providing hands-on solutions and world class customer service.

This unique opening features a well-established territory and working with leading companies in exciting industries such as aerospace, medical device, defense, semiconductor, automotive and more. Significant short and long term sales growth potential exists.

This position services Eastern Massachusetts/Northern New England region and includes travel in Massachusetts (East of 495), New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine. Additionally, regular visits to our Enfield, CT headquarters and state-of-the art showroom facility are expected and encouraged.


Efforts focus on the sale, service and support of microscopes, measuring instruments, imaging software and sample preparation supplies and equipment.

Success hinges on effectively cultivating and fostering relationships, including:

-Responding to inbound inquiries and requests from existing customers and active leads.
-Assessing existing customer needs and historical activity to uncover new sales opportunities.
-Proactively prospecting (internally and externally) to establish new connections.
-Networking with customers and peers to build rapport and uncover industry insights.
-Working in collaboration with upper management to evaluate and address complex challenges.

The Sales Engineer works daily to:

-Schedule and carry out appointments, calls, presentations and meetings.
-Conduct product and system demonstrations (in-person and at Excels showroom).
-Produce recommendations, proposals and estimates.
-Finalize and close open business opportunities.

As a member of a dynamic, growing sales organization, the Technical Sales Engineer is expected to continuously improve technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and industry events, consuming industry publications (online and offline) and participating in professional societies. Additionally, all team members are expected to contribute within the organization by participating in collaborative sales discussions, technical presentations, demonstrations and trainings.


This is a flexible position open to candidates with all levels of experience. Starting compensation will be determined based on an assessment of experience, technical aptitude and sales acumen. Please note, all new employees will be provided hands-on training and will be backed by a support team (management, back office and sales).
