We are looking for a skilled, motivated and passionate sales professional for our new B2B Outside Sales Executive / Business Development Manager position in the Washington DC market. This position will sell our new small business accounting and payroll services throughout the new territory.

Our Outside Sales Executive will achieve maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling H&R Blocks accounting services to small businesses (less than $20MM in revenue.) They will identify and help develop strategic relationships with partners and/or potential customers, assist in the development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting and maintain solid relationships with business that they develop.

Working with our internal support team, the Outside Sales Executive is responsible for overseeing the entire business development cycle (prospecting, selling prospects on using Block Small Business, gathering detailed information on prospects, working with a Block Small Business CPA to price an engagement, drafting proposals, creating, distributing & facilitating the execution of client engagement letter and handing off clients to the operations team.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Our B2B Outside Sales Executive / Business Development Manager Will Include:
Generates new leads and calls on companies with the aim of creating more revenue.
Identifies business partnerships that offer a strategic fit in support of Blocks business strategy.
Builds and fosters a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
Follows established protocols resulting in targeted revenue increases.
Meets with prospects to discuss their needs, outlining appropriate company services, and resolving problems as necessary.
Manages call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
Schedules appointments, prepares and delivers presentations to the client, having researched their business and requirements.
Works with Block business partners (Operations, Training, Marketing, Finance) to negotiate and implement business opportunities on an as-needed basis, as resources require. Includes discussion of customer needs, problems and/or complaints. Arranges for meetings between customers or prospective customers and representatives H&R Block when necessary.
Hands off established accounts to the operations team for implementation. Ensure follow-up by including calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
Completes follow up activities including maintenance of records to include activity and results reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analysis, documentation of contacts and results. Submits reports and maintains files as necessary.
Maintains strong understanding of competitive and market forces affecting Block Small Business and its ongoing strategy.
Provides real-time feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of Blocks offering based on in-market successes and failures.
Required Skills and Experience for Our B2B Outside Sales Executive / Business Development Manager:
8 or more years of experience selling, preferably services, to small businesses (industry knowledge or experience NOT required)
Proven success in sales, business development and account management.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to promote business partnerships
Strong presentation skills.
Solid track record of small business revenue generating activities at a corporate level.
Strong research and strategic analysis skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to cold call potential clients with confidence.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to operate Microsoft Office and associated programs.
Must hold a full clean driving license.
