Current Opportunity & Company Description: High-quality caulking and sealant manufacturer has immediate openings for Sales Representatives in the CA (Los Angeles), MO (St. Louis), and IN (Indianapolis) areas for our Home Improvement products group.

We are looking for highly-seasoned, experienced sales representative(s) with their focus on being proactive, business-minded, and dedicated to planning and execution. Our sales professionals have the opportunity to make a real impact on the top-line growth of the company and be an active participant in the execution of the sales strategies and programs to achieve corporate growth goals.

The position(s) will be located in their respective territories as outline below and report directly to the US Sales Manager. Territories are always subject to change based on the needs of the business.
Current territory for the position based in California (Los Angeles) to cover: WA, OR, NV, CA, AZ
Current territory for the position based in either MO (St. Louis) or IN (Indianapolis) to cover: MO, IL, IN, OH, KY, TN
Current territory for the position based in MN (Minneapolis) to cover: MN, and some international needs (Canada & Japan). There is a good possibility that this territory will also be expanded to a few other states in the region as coverage is needed.

Responsibilities: The core requirements for this position include maintaining and growing relationships within our current base of Hardware, Lumber, and Paint distributor and retail customers. Additionally, networking and cold calling as necessary to develop new retail chain accounts and keep the sales funnel filled. More specific information is listed below (however, this is not considered to be the full job description):

Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals that align with the companys marketing and sales strategies. Service accounts as required to maintain customer relationships and grow sales.
Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities to build and maintain sales funnel of prospects, continually adding new leads while advancing existing prospects to gain commitment for our brands and campaigns. Identify customer needs and opportunities, communicate benefits, overcome objections, and secure customer commitments for company product brands.
Develop annual account business plans. For sufficiently large retail chains, develop annual promotion and merchandising plans.
Prepare and utilize Call Plans to proactively identify strategy and goals for each call, advance the sales process, manage time, and inform manager of activities. Collaborate with US Sales Manager to strategically prioritize activities and effectively manage time for maximum results.
Train distributor reps on products, promotions, and programs. Make regular joint sales calls with distributor reps in the territory to meet goals for key accounts. Pursue ongoing education (seminars, books, CDs, etc.) on the craft and disciplines of selling.
Utilize technology to work efficiently and maximize selling time in the field with customers. Enter key customer data attachments and copy key customer emails to CRM (customer relationship management system) and maintain accuracy of customer contact and corporate information. Complete required activity and expense reports per company policies and deadlines.
Approximately 50% overnight travel required. Actively work booth at assigned shows to sell programs and product brands for new retail placements and to develop retail leads. Conduct product knowledge trainings and demonstrations. Attend key customer and contractor events, as appropriate. Additionally, handle all other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Preferred Skills: Ideal candidate will have a proven track record with consistently meeting sales goals on time, planning necessary for keeping the sales funnel filled, preparing/submitting call plans and report prior to travel, intermediate-advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and a strong propensity to hunt for new business while maintaining and growing existing business.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, minimum of 5 years of experience in a field sales role, and willingness and ability to travel overnight on average 50%.
Demonstrated success selling goods or services that do not have a low-priced position. Strong sales and account management ability. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building ability.
Strong listening, critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills. Superior organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with a great deal of windshield time and inconsistent schedules based on customer need.
Intermediate to advanced personal computer and keyboarding skills, strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of financial concepts that drive profitability.
Proven track record in working effectively and efficiently with internal customers and company personnel with diverse backgrounds/abilities, and with all levels of personnel, community members, and company leadership with tact, consideration and respect. Additionally, ability to maintain confidentiality with customer and proprietary company information in all aspects of the job.
