Job Summary: Strong sales and marketing skills in manufacturing or metals industries

The Sales Manager will be very "hands on" and focus on devising and implementing sales strategies, forecasting sales, leadership of any District Sales Managers, independent agents and Inside Sales Associates within North America. Establishes and attains sales goals; hires, trains, and motivates sales professionals, and develops independent agents if needed. Establishes and maintains effective budgetary controls of sales expenses. The management and execution of effective buying groups, national accounts, and district account management programs. Being a resource to all specific marketing and general market planning programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates a high degree of leadership, business judgment, sales knowledge, marketing knowledge and human relationship insight directed towards the solution of diverse and sometimes complex problems involving customers, vendors, subordinates, and other company associates. Development of field sales subordinate[s] and other specific people as assigned in meeting the challenge of the market.

Merge product sales plans and goals with material specifications while always measuring and comparing current capabilities with raw material requirements. Assures the domestic and international material vendors are in-step with the company's customer demand. Doing whatever it takes to ensure the vendors act in partnership with the company's customer demand.

Develop and submit monthly marketing forecasts to the sales team, operating and top management; utilizing internal sales reports, operating statements, analyses, and any other pertinent information that would portray future market conditions for the company.

Conducts the performance review of all accounts through the design, execution, and chairing of periodic sales team management meetings. Defines specific account development strategies and executes those strategies. In cooperation with the Internal Consultant, perpetually measures strategy performance and overall progress of accountable sales geographies. Communicates effect and cause analysis of individual upward and downward sales volumes.

Coordinates marketing intelligence activities of district sales and inside sales operations to achieve approved short- and long-range objectives for company-products. Work in partnership and utilize internal consulting services for information and data compilation, assessment, and reports presentations.

Continually seeks ways to enhance relationships with customers, vendors, and teams with each other.

Establish, maintain, and enhance a marketing network of distributors and service centers within North America. Formulates and recommends market and sales plans to the CEO. Utilize the services of the Inside Sales Associate Teams in Pennsylvania and Illinois to aid in the maintenance and enhancement of customers.

Conduct marketing analysis of business potential on an on-going basis using data and intelligence obtained from Company associates, distributors, trade associations, conferences, competitors, periodicals, and other similar data; provide General Management and Inside Sales Associates with findings and projections.

Promote, market, and service distributorship opportunities, counsels distributors on performance and opportunities. Conduct sales meetings at distributor locations.

Provide pricing and delivery information by verbal and written quotations, working from a standard price and discount list.

Recommends and executes pricing based on market information and business goals. Provide distributor and competitive feedback on price changes.

Completes distributor and customer call and visit reports, activity reports, and expense reports on a timely basis.

Develops annual performance plan expectations for major accounts, assuring achievement of major account strategies.

In cooperation with Inside Sales Associates and Financial Services, assist in the collection of delinquent accounts when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in technical sales management position in similar industry
  • Strong sales and marketing skills in manufacturing or metals industries
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s products, services and overall capabilities.
  • Fully proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and similar other productivity applications.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills: Demonstrated experience creating professional written proposals and accompanying presentations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to use the various data tools available to extract insights from a wide range of datasets and draw actionable conclusions from this information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,531.67 - $110,618.79 per year
