Title: Wholesale Sales Director


In this key role, the Sales Director will be responsible for securing new accounts while maintaining relationships with existing customers in the petroleum industry. The territory is the greater New England area. The Sales Director will be expected to generate new relationships and to negotiate mutually-beneficial contracts, by providing services and solutions to customers, achieving sales volumes and profitability goals, and implementing corporate strategic objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Meeting sales and margin goals.
  • Ability to build, develop and lead a team of field sales representative(s).
  • Understanding company profitability and managing relationships toward maximizing returns.
  • Implementing sales processes.
  • Generating lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads and maximizing sales to those targets.
  • Implementing marketing strategies developed by the company and brand partners; providing feedback on market trends and industry conditions.
  • Managing customer relations; gaining comprehensive understanding of customer’s business and becoming an advocate for the customer while balancing the needs of the company.
  • Providing solutions to customers becoming a valuable resource.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.
  • Performs necessary administrative work.
  • Manages reporting procedures, budget and expense account within company guidelines.
  • Negotiates contract terms with key performance indicators in mind.
  • Proactively monitors existing contracts for new opportunities or to ensure that renewals are pursued in a timely fashion.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Petroleum/Wholesale Fuel Sales.
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Learn our Petroleum Proprietary Software.
  • Able to understand financial transactions technology.
  • Able to communicate with brands on standards and expectations.
    • Understands petroleum trading standards with regards to hedging, futures and prompts.
    • Proven track record of closing new business deals in the industry; numerous industry contacts within the territory.
    • Must have strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Occasional travel to conferences and regional industry meetings.
    • Driver’s license and clean driving record.
